To do that, Query a WHOIS server.
This tool is simply that. If an internet connection is
available, it raises a query to a WHOIS server and if no internet connection is available, it uses a Local database to find the country name from where the IP belongs to.

MAC vendor lookup

Medium Access Control (MAC) vendor finder. With the first 24 bits of an ethernet network card address, identifies the vendor. The MAC address or also known as hardware address is allocated to each network interface by the manufacturer.
The first 3 bytes (24 bits) identifies the vendor of the ethernet card. To find the MAC address try something like an ifconfig, ipconfig, arp -a, ...
