With this standalone script you can start your downloads using any protocol (ftp, hotline, carracho, http,...) and almost any application (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Hotline Client,...), and leave the computer alone securely. DownloadAssistant disconnects or shuts down when downloads are complete, if the transfer rate drops below the level you select, or if connection with the server(s) is interrupted. You can set the english speech synthesizer so DownloadAssistant will give you audio feedbacks of the download status when it is in the background and/or if you are away from your computer (very useful!). DownloadAssistant can expands files automatically with Stuffit Expander after disconnection, before shutting down the computer. It can generate an helpful log file to know what it did for you and when. DownloadAssistant helps to prevent pirate intrusions in your system by reducing useless connection time.
